New research shows UK asbestos cost
The Actuarial Profession has published new research showing that the total future UK cost of asbestos-related diseases is in the region of £8-20bn. The UK insurance industry is expected to face half this cost (£4-10bn).
More than half of this sum will be for mesothelioma, claims for which will continue to rise for the next decade. By contrast, claims for other asbestos-related diseases, such as asbestosis, will fallOnly users who have a paid subscription or are part of a corporate subscription are able to print or copy content.
