European insurers welcome gender decision, despite December deadline
European insurance trade bodies have welcolmed the preliminary agreement struck by the EU Council for Employment and Social Affairs on the draft directive on equal access to and supply of goods. However, there was dissapointment that a final decision would not be made until December.
The Association of British Insurers said: "We are encouraged to hear that the EU Council of Ministers has recognised the validity of gender as a factor in insurance, though it is disappointing that aOnly users who have a paid subscription or are part of a corporate subscription are able to print or copy content.
