London upholds Bermuda BHC gagging order — no hearing until August at earliest

The highest court for Bermudian judicial matters, the Privy Council in London, has imposed a reporting ban pending resolution of the appeal of the Attorney General and the Commissioner of Police in their request for a gagging order against various Bermuda media organisations in the Bermuda Housing Corporation (BHC) case that has rocked the island since the end of May.

A ruling made yesterday 26th June by the Council’s judicial committee imposed a restraining order on five major Bermudian media organisations, barring them from making further revelations from the BHC
