Florida Regulators Give Official Nod to Take Up to 110,000 Policies From Citizens

BestWire) - The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation said six companies have been approved to remove up to 110,000 policies from Citizens Property Insurance Corp. on Nov. 14 as part of the state's continued take-out program.

With the latest round of take-outs, Citizens, the state-run homeowners insurer of last resort, could have as little as about 1 million policies remaining.

The insurer had quickly increased in size
