Levene calls on Government to 'back a winner'

Lord Levene, chairman of Lloyd's has called for greater support from government for the City of London and the insurance industry. The cross-bench peer bemoaned the lack of tax incentives for businesses in the UK, which he said were forcing insurers to look offshore, and said that as a percentage of UK trade and investment, the government should be "backing a winner".

He said:

"Having been on both the receiving and transmitting ends of so many speeches, concerning the dominant position of the City of London, I am well aware of the danger of bombarding one’s audience

Axa Partners hit with FCA limitations

Following the Which? super complaint, the Financial Conduct Authority has told Axa Partners UK it cannot grow its current customer base without written permission from the regulator.
