Beazley boosted by US GWP

Lloyd’s insurer Beazley this morning reported a profit before tax of £60.2m (2006: £28.3m) for the six months ending 30 June 2007 on gross premiums written up 10% to £434.1m (2006: £394.3m).

The company saw its combined ratio improve to 87% (2006: 90%) while it saw a dramatic rise in gross written premiums from it US operations, up to US$77.9m (2006: US$27.4m).
