Out of court settlements preferred to Judge imposed periodical payments
One of the few periodical payment orders since the introduction of the Courts Act was awarded in Leeds High Court last week. However, market commentators believe most judgments have been avoided in favour of out of court settlements. See full story in tomorrow's Post Magazine.
On 20 April 2005, at Leeds High Court, Mr Justice Mitting imposed a Periodic Payment Order (PPO) in the case of Godbald -v- Mahmood. The Judge ordered the Defendants to pay £50,000 per annum indexOnly users who have a paid subscription or are part of a corporate subscription are able to print or copy content.
