Transatlantic takes $33m for Rita and ups Katrina loss
Transatlantic Holdings has said that its preliminary estimate of net after-tax losses from Hurricane Rita to be $33m after tax basis in 2005. In addition the firm has updated its third quarter net after-tax catastrophe losses at $224m which it says include $195m related to Hurricane Katrina, and the majority of the balance related to European floods.
Transatlantic said its new pre-tax Katrina loss estimate, net of reinsurance was $300m, which represents an upwards revision of $30m from the last estimate published on September 14th.Only users who have a paid subscription or are part of a corporate subscription are able to print or copy content.
