Lords' decision on stress at work case fails to end debate
The House of Lords has today affirmed the principles enunciated in the Court of Appeal decision in Hatton v Sutherland [2002] 2 All ER 1, but reversed the decision in the individual case under review.
The claimant was one of 2 teachers (Mrs Hatton being the second) in public sector secondary schools whose claims for work related stress were successful at first instance.
