EC begins new motor insurance consultation

The European Commission has launched a public online consultation on two issues related to motor insurance - public awareness of national compensation bodies and their effectiveness in settling claims, and problems getting insurance coverage for trailers.

Replies will be taken into account in a forthcoming Commission report to the European Parliament and Council. The consultation is open until 15 July 2005 and available at: http://europa.eu.int

FCA vows to keep pressure on premium finance APRs

The Financial Conduct Authority has said it will “continue to put pressure” on companies offering premium finance in a bid to continue lowering annual percentage rates after revealing the impact its enforcement action has had so far.
