Assured Guaranty buys rival FSA Holdings for $722m
Assured Guaranty, the US credit insurer, said it has agreed to purchase Financial Security Assurance Holdings, the parent of financial guaranty insurance company, Financial Security Assurance from financial services group Dexia for $722m.
The purchase price consists of $361m in cash and 44,567,000 common shares of Assured. The purchase price is approximately 37.5% of FSA's September 30, 2008 shareholders' equity adjusted for the FP
