New York to hold hearings on contingents and compulsory disclosure
The New York State insurance department and the office of the New York Attorney General are to hold joint public hearings in July on whether contingent commissions should be formally banned and disclosure of compensation arrangements for insurance agents and brokers mandated.
A statement from the two offices said the hearings will cover issues including contingent and supplemental commissions, producer compensation disclosure and deceptive or anti-competitive practices.
