Scream and Madonna insurance failure
Edvard Munch's The Scream and Madonna which were stolen from Oslo's Forsikring museum at gun point yesterday were not insured against theft. Many of the world's famous works of art are not covered for theft due to the high cost of insurance.
The managing director for the insurance company of the city of Oslo, John Oyaas, confirmed to Bloomberg News that the paintings were only insured for restoration in the case of fire and flood.Only users who have a paid subscription or are part of a corporate subscription are able to print or copy content.
