S&P: outlook touch and go for reinsurers

Ratings agency Standard and Poors has maintained its stable outlook for the reinsurance sector in 2008, but has warned it will be looking ever more closely at demand trends and pricing and reserve adequacy as the softening market progresses.

S&P said the consensus view among market participants is that pricing for most lines is still adequate for the risks being covered, but added that many segments appear to have reached the point at
