Boleat to reveal new claims regime tomorrow

The government will announce further details of the regulatory regime for claims management companies tomorrow. Mark Boleat, head of claims management regulation at the Department of Constitutional Affairs, told Post Magazine's Claims Club today that a 'short' conduct of business rules document will be published of "no more than three pages", outlining how authorised CMCs will be governed.

"This will be a light touch regulator," Mr Boleat said, adding that the budget allocated to Trading Standards - the government department tasked with regulating CMCs - will be less than £1m per year.
