Reduction in capacity impacts Hannover Re earnings

Reinsurer Hannover Re has reported operating profit increases of 41.8% to 154.5m euro (£104.7m), for the first quarter of 2004, with quarterly net income rising by 36.1%, despite what it describes as "Markedly less premium income than the same period last year."
