Canopius sees profit jump to £33m

Privately-owned Lloyd's insurer Canopius has reported a profit before tax of £33m in 2007 – a 27% rise on 2006 - on gross written premiums increased of £455m (2006: £241m).

In the four months to April 2008,Canopius added that Syndicate 4444 wrote 56% of its business plan for the year at an aggregate rate reduction of 1.8%.
