Changes to Romanian corporate law, making it compulsory for companies to purchase directors’ & officers’ liability insurance (D&O), are creating a surge in demand for cover according to Marsh, the world’s leading risk and insurance services firm. Romania is the first country in the European Union to make the purchase of D&O compulsory.
Introduced in December 2006, the new legislation makes the purchase of D&O compulsory for all directors of joint stock companies in Romania. This includes public and private companies with Romanian
