Everest Re ups hurricane losses
Everest Re Group has increased its total pretax loss estimate from Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma to $1.2bn from $1bn, net of reinstatements.
The estimates include the $300m Wilma-related loss the Bermuda-based insurer previously disclosed on November 28 last year. For the full-year 2005, the net after-tax impact of the hurricanes is
