Fraud rises 30%, according to ABI
Insurers are detecting record levels of fraudulent insurance claims – 2000 every week, worth £14m – according to figures released today by the Association of British Insurers.
The ABI figures show that in 2008, 107 000 fraudulent insurance claims were exposed – a rise of 17% on 2007. The value of these claims, at £730 million, rose by 30% on the previous year.
