Cassidy Davis teams up with Quentin Willson for used car warranty product

Cassidy Davis has teamed up with Quentin Willson, a leading motoring authority, to provide what the insurer describes as the UK's most comprehensive and motorist-friendly used car warranty product.

The warranty, distributed through Lloyd's Coverholders Warranty Wise Insurance Services, provides cover for all mechanical and electrical parts of any make or model of vehicle, including vans and luxury cars, with up to 120,000 miles on the clock when the warranty is taken out. After this, there are no restrictions on the mileage, no limit to the number of claims allowed and no excess to pay.

Quentin Willson said: "Up until now, many warranties have not been worth the paper they've been written on. Motorists have been let down by small print and exclusions that in many cases make the cover worthless. The thinking behind this warranty product is very simple – to provide cover for every part on any vehicle with no 'weasel words' that allow claims to be rejected or claim payouts to be reduced."

Martyn Headdey, deputy underwriter of Syndicate 5820 at Cassidy Davis, said: "Mr Willson and Warranty Wise certainly threw down the gauntlet when it came to developing this product and we have met the challenge by providing a warranty that is transparent, represents real value for money and gives motorists genuine peace of mind."

Andrew Whittaker, senior Ppartner at Warranty Wise Insurance Services, said: "We were looking for an underwriter with a breadth of experience and strong backing, so Cassidy Davis were the natural choice. They understood what we and Mr Willson wanted to achieve and had the flexibility and expertise to create what we believe is the best used car warranty in the UK."
