The catastrophe bond market is growing rapidly following a serious of natural disasters around the world such as Hurricane Katrina, and, with its reputation among investors also improving, it is set to have an increasingly important role to play globally, as well as, more surprisingly, receiving a flood of interest in the British Isles, as Kirsty Redford explains
Last year was a record year in the catastrophe bond market. According to figures from Benfield's Global Reinsurance Market Review, published in January, bonds with a value of more than $4bn (£1.9bn)
