Autoglass warns insurers over risks of excluding windscreen cover

An increase in stripped-back motor insurance products entering the market over the last six months has prompted a warning that customers may not fully understand the financial consequences of choosing policies without glass cover.

Pippa Elves, head of insurance partnerships at Autoglass, said the number of “essentials” motor policies had increased over the last five years, with the trend appearing to accelerate recently.
