Average subsidence claim hits record levels

Data from the Association of British Insurers show home insurers paid out £72m for domestic subsidence claims during the second quarter of 2026.

According to the ABI’s latest Property Insurance Tracker, the average subsidence claim reached a record £20,000, more than £2000 higher than in the same period last year.
