Parametric benefits gain traction in travel insurance

A growing number of providers are introducing automatic flight and baggage delay payments as demand for faster claims solutions increases, according to Anna-Marie Duthie, insight consultant for general insurance at Defaqto.

For both annual and single-trip travel insurance, the volatility seen over the last decade appears to have stabilised more recently, with provider numbers showing minimal change since 2023.
