Motor premiums stabilise but cost to insurers mount

The Association of British Insurers’ motor insurance tracker has revealed that premiums increased by just 1% in the first quarter of 2024.

While this could be indicating an easing of increases seen in 2023, the data revealed the average claim pay-out increased by 8% to reach a record £4800 over the same period, showing insurers continue
