Verisk’s Caris: Medical risk assessment must evolve as medicine changes
Advances in medicine should allow travel insurers to make increasingly differentiated assessments of medical risk, according to Verisk medical director Dr Jochem Caris, who has also called for greater sharing of claims data to help validate how medical developments translate into insured risk.
Speaking at the Verisk Insurance Conference in London on 3 September, Caris, pictured, said changes in treatment, prognosis and clinical outcomes mean medical risk assessment cannot remain static.
