Former Transport Secretary Louise Haigh has been appointed as First Secretary of State in Prime Minister Andy Burnham’s new cabinet.
This role outranks all other secretaries of state and includes the role of Deputy Prime Minister.
Haigh, pictured, has also been appointed Minister for the Cabinet Office and Chancellor of the Duchy of
