Stuart McMurdo is president of Accredited UK and Europe, which has swiftly established itself as a leading specialty MGA insurer.

Prior to taking the helm of Accredited, McMurdo was CEO of Scor’s global reinsurance business.
While at Scor, McMurdo held a number of senior roles, including CEO of Scor UK and the Scor Syndicate at Lloyd’s.
Before Scor, he served as head of reinsurance for Santam, one of South Africa’s largest insurers and has also worked for one of South Africa’s largest broking companies after completing more than 10 years with Hannover Re in both South Africa and Germany.
McMurdo joined Accredited to drive its continued successful growth across the UK and Europe, and last year the business further expanded its portfolio, including building on its established hold in UK motor and personal lines.
In 2025, McMurdo said Accredited will continue its growth, including broadening the lines of business it supports and strengthening its European footprint.
At the same time, he said the business will continue to differentiate itself through its underwriting-first approach and focus on discipline, effective portfolio diversification and rigorous risk management.
Building on existing partnerships and expanding new strategic relationships will be a focus of the business and if McMurdo achieves his goals, expect to see him climb towards the top of future Insurance Post Power Lists.
