London heads to Dubai for inaugural Islamic Insurance conference

The Islamic Insurance Association of London (IIAL) will hold its first conference with the Islamic insurance and risk community in Dubai next Sunday (8 November) to see how the sector can move to the next level.

IIAL chairman and former Lloyd's chairman Max Taylor said the growth in the Islamic economies has to be matched by the access to insurance that is compliant with the tenants of Islam.

Lloyd’s profits fall to £3.5bn

Lloyd’s profit before tax fell from £4.2bn in the first half of 2025 to £3.5bn in the first six months of 2026, as lower investment returns offset a "strong" underwriting performance.
