Career Development: CII provides flexible working guidelines
The Chartered Insurance Institute has launched a guide for companies looking to introduce flexible working arrangements.
The guidelines were produced in response to a 2014 legislation change giving employees the right to request flexible working arrangements once they have reached 26 weeks consecutive service.
The guide offers advice around flexible working requests and the principles behind designing a flexible working policy.
Daniel Pedley, CII public affairs manager, said the CII is committed to helping businesses transition into offering flexible working.
“Implementing flexible working practices is often perceived as awkward and problematic by many business owners, yet the benefits of working this way are evident,” Pedley said. “Flexible working has an unfair reputation and we want to counteract this.”
