General insurers are in danger of losing their customers to new entrants unless they step up their digital game, according to research carried out by Deloitte.

The business advisory firm's research - Insurance Disrupted - showed that 62% of customers want to use their smartphones for general insurance, but time-consuming data entry keeps uptake low at 9%.
