Canopius H1 GWP spikes 54% after UK retail growth

Gross written premiums soared more than 50% year-on-year for the first half of 2013 at Canopius, with UK retail growth cited as key to the improvement.

 The insurer has also completed the integration of Lloyd's insurer Omega following its 2012 purchase of the firm, and as a result GWP climbed from £343m to £527m.

Lloyd’s profits fall to £3.5bn

Lloyd’s profit before tax fell from £4.2bn in the first half of 2025 to £3.5bn in the first six months of 2026, as lower investment returns offset a "strong" underwriting performance.
