Lloyd's stung by £516m loss

Lloyd's has revealed a pre-tax loss of £516m in its full year results following the "second costliest year" for catastrophes in the industry.

This is a far cry from a pre-tax profit of £2,195m in 2010.

Lloyd's combined operating ratio was 106.8%m compared to 93.3% in 2010, although it claims the 2011 COR is in line with an estimated average

Lloyd’s profits fall to £3.5bn

Lloyd’s profit before tax fell from £4.2bn in the first half of 2025 to £3.5bn in the first six months of 2026, as lower investment returns offset a "strong" underwriting performance.
