Ecclesiastical records rising metal thefts
The severity of natural disasters this year has led to a rise in the number of metal thefts and put 2010 on course to be the second worst year for the crime on record
Ecclesiastical has stated that during the first five months of 2010 it received 722 theft of metal claims worth more than £1.6m.
Although lead stolen from churches still makes up the majority of theft
