NU: Burglaries could surge 50% by 2010
The recession could cause household burglaries to increase by 50% by the end of 2009, insurance giant Norwich Union has claimed.
The insurer estimates that there could be more than 140,000 burglaries before the turn of the year, which could see UK homeowners losing in excess of £421m in stolen goods.
