£50m claim over construction delay dismissed
The High Court has dismissed a £50m claim for damages and interest made by MAPCL and another Mirant subsidiary, Sual Construction Corporation, against Ove Arup, over delays in the construction of the Sual Power Station in the Philippines.
Ove Arup were the power station’s structural designers.The Court has not only turned down Mirant’s application for costs but also awarded Arup the bulk of its defence costs estimated at £8m. Mirant
