Many direct sellers are attempting to reduce the call times involved in obtaining a quote for house insurance, although it still remains a relatively lengthy process, but is this necessarily a bad thing? Martin Pitt analyses the results of the latest mystery shopping exercise for home insurance cover

For this latest mystery shopping report on household insurance, Direct Excellence called 36 companies to obtain quotations and, of the companies contacted, four are targeted at the over-50s market.
