Claims fraud interceptions continue to top £1bn

Fraud scam

£1.16bn worth of fraudulent general insurance claims were identified in 2024, according to the Association of British Insurers’ latest data.

This represents a 2% increase on the £1.14bn detected the previous year. 

According to the data, insurers uncovered over 98,400 fraud-related claims in 2024, a 12% rise from 81,100 in 2023.
