Axa UK reports £148m turnaround in underwriting fortunes

Axa’s UK general insurance operation returned to an underwriting profit in 2024, as its loss ratio plummeted nearly 16 percentage points.

The provider boosted its pre-tax profits to £141m, compared with £63m in 2023, despite a lower investment result of £166m, down from £213m in the previous year.

Lloyd’s probe deepens after Clement promotion cleared

Lloyd’s is believed to have widened a fresh investigation into top-level behaviour, just as a report emerged that October’s review of the London Market’s former CEO John Neal’s relationship with his former head of corporate affairs Rebekah Clement ruled it wasn’t inappropriate.
