Ecclesiastical enjoys ‘record new business’ in 2024

Ecclesiastical’s expansion into new sectors helped it achieve “record new business wins” in 2024, as it nearly doubled its pre-tax profit from the previous year.

The insurer’s UK and Ireland general insurance business, which accounts for around two thirds of group gross written premiums, saw its topline increase 9.3% to £436.9m from £399.7m in 2023.

McGill sold to EQT for $2bn
