ABI still 40% short of capacity for fire safety scheme

The Association of British Insurers’ Fire Safety Reinsurance Scheme, designed by McGill and Partners, is still some way off launching, despite numerous claims it would be ready by the end of summer 2023.

The ABI’s director of general insurance policy, Mervyn Skeet, wrote a blog at the end of last year stating the facility is not ready yet because “sufficient reinsurance capacity is not yet in place”.

Lloyd’s probe deepens after Clement promotion cleared

Lloyd’s is believed to have widened a fresh investigation into top-level behaviour, just as a report emerged that October’s review of the London Market’s former CEO John Neal’s relationship with his former head of corporate affairs Rebekah Clement ruled it wasn’t inappropriate.
