Gender pay parity ‘50 years away’ as insurance halts progress

Despite the insurance industry making progress towards closing gender pay gaps, it continues to have the highest mean hourly pay gaps in 2023.

According to research by PwC, the insurance sector saw the highest mean hourly pay gaps in 2022/23, along with building societies and banking.

In contrast, public administration, health and leisure

Direct Line accepts £3.6bn bid from Aviva

Direct Line Group has this morning confirmed it has reached a “preliminary agreement” on the financial terms of a potential acquisition of the entire share capital of Direct Line by Aviva.
