Hiscox has published a summary of its initial 2011 business forecast for Syndicate 33 and envisages a syndicate capacity of £900m for 2011, a reduction of £100m from 2010.

The insurer also manages special purpose syndicate 6104 solely on behalf of third party capital providers. Capacity for Syndicate 6104 will remain at £45m for 2011.

Lloyd’s profits fall to £3.5bn

Lloyd’s profit before tax fell from £4.2bn in the first half of 2025 to £3.5bn in the first six months of 2026, as lower investment returns offset a "strong" underwriting performance.
