Recalls surge to record highs amid reform drive
European product recall activity has increased for the seventh year in a row, with 15,608 events recorded by Sedgwick across the UK and European Union in 2025.
The figures, published in Sedgwick’s State of the Nation European Product Safety and Recall Index, surpass the previous record of 14,484 recalls set in 2024.
The final quarter alone saw 4,134 events –
