Zurich UKGI profit rises despite 'tough' market
Zurich’s UK general insurance arm has seen profits rocket and a marked improvement in its combined operating ratio in its 2018 financial year, following a loss-making 2017.
Its operating profit improved to £137m from £50m in 2017, excluding the Ogden rate change impact. Factoring in the Ogden impact, Zurich’s general insurance practice had reported a 2017 loss of £151m.
