Allianz and LV appoint joint claims panel

Allianz and LV have appointed BLM, DWF and Keoghs to their claims legal panel and are considering joint panels across other areas, Post has learned.

DAC Beachcroft will no longer be on Allianz’s claims panel following the review.

As of 1 May, Allianz’s motor, casualty, and fraud claims will be handled by Keoghs and BLM, with Keoghs also handling recoveries and property claims. BLM will focus on major losses while DWF, which previously handled Allianz’s disease claims, will now be receiving Allianz instructions for all types of claims.

All three law firms have worked with LV since its last claims review in 2017 and will continue to sit on core defendant claims panels covering fraud, motor, property, property recoveries and major losses.

Allianz and LV reviewed their legal panels to align service provisions for both businesses after the transfer of commercial and personal lines business between the insurers completed at the end of 2019. The supplier contracts will be valid for three years.

Post understands the insurers are also considering expanding this joint approach to other areas where it could deliver value for customers.

Eibhlin Swan, Allianz head of supply and experts, said: “This joint review has allowed us to ensure we are leveraging the benefits of both our businesses and brands to deliver best-in-class service, alongside our new panel, to our customers.”

LV technical claims director Caroline Johnson added: “Our claims legal panel is so important, as it helps us support customers with legal expertise at an incredibly challenging time. The new claims panel has been a joint project with Allianz, and ensures customers across both brands continue to receive great service from us.”
