CFC makes first acquisition in 20 years as it buys Solis Security

CFC Underwriting has bought Texas-based incident response provider Solis Security, marking the company’s first acquisition in 20 years.

Cyber specialist managing general agent CFC has been using Solis’ incident response capabilities to respond to its clients’ cyber events for a number of years.

David Walsh, CEO of CFC, said: “Having worked closely with Solis we know it has one of the most technically skilled and experienced incident response teams in the market, and we’re eager to bring them on board.”

“With the addition of Solis’ expert technical team and capabilities, we strengthen our proposition for clients by offering even faster time to resolution and reduced costs, as well as greater alignment with our underwriting teams and carriers. With their base in Texas, this also means CFC gains an incident response office in the United States, supporting our goal to provide 24/7 follow-the-sun coverage for clients.” 

Reflecting on the integration of the Austin, Texas-based business, Walsh added: “CFC regularly use Solis Security’s incident response services to support our clients’ cyber insurance claims. We will continue to leverage the Solis team in this way, only now they will be CFC employees and will operate under the CFC brand. That said, our clients will still have the ability to choose from our full panel of external incident response providers or their own.
