Insurers received an early Christmas present last month, when the government appeared to give firm backing to Lord Justice Jackson's recommendations on combating disproportionate civil litigation costs. The ministerial foreword to its consultation described Jackson as a "turning point" and stated the government is seeking to "rebalance" the costs of civil cases.
Whether insurers will actually receive the hoped-for and beautifully wrapped package of interlocking reforms remains to be seen, but there was certainly hope on the horizon for those grappling with
