Law Commission hits mark

The Law Commission's recommendation that damages should be available for policyholders who receive delayed claims payment has been well received by the insurance industry.

As part of its multi-phased review of insurance contract law, the commission has recommended modifying current insurance contract law on damages, bringing it in line with ordinary contract law.
